NETWORK ENGINEER (HYBRID LISBON)

Role Overview

As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for monitoring, supporting, troubleshooting, and maintaining network and server systems, ensuring high availability, performance, and security. You will work closely with the networking team and other IT stakeholders to deliver reliable services and excellent customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor network and server infrastructures, proactively identifying incidents, outages, and performance issues.
Provide advanced technical support across routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, load balancers, and DNS.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex network and connectivity issues, escalating when required.
Respond to customer requests and incidents in a timely and professional manner.
Maintain accurate documentation and records using ticketing and monitoring tools.
Participate in network and server-related projects, including upgrades and improvements.
Support the training and mentoring of NOC Technicians.
Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and customers to resolve complex technical challenges.
Ensure compliance with security standards, policies, and operational procedures.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
3–5 years of experience in network and server administration, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
Strong knowledge of networking protocols and technologies:
TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VPNs
Experience with SD-WAN solutions (Cisco, Versa, Fortinet).
Hands-on experience with NGFW solutions (Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet).
Experience using network monitoring tools such as LogicMonitor, SolarWinds, Nagios, or PRTG.
Experience with scripting and automation (Python, Ansible).
Knowledge of Network Operating Systems:
Cisco IOS, IOS-XE, NX-OS
Linux
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
CCNA certification (required).

Nice to Have

Professional certifications such as CCNP or CCIE.
Exposure to complex or multi-customer network environments.
Experience supporting enterprise or service-provider networks.
