The Team Lead – Data Analysis will oversee a high‑performing analytics team responsible for transforming complex business, operational and financial data into actionable insights. This role requires a blend of business understanding, analytical expertise, leadership capability and strong awareness of banking industry specificities. The ideal candidate is comfortable navigating ambiguity, guiding analysts and partnering with senior stakeholders to support strategic and operational decision‑making.
Key Responsibilities
📌 Business Understanding & Data Analysis
- Develop and maintain a collection of dashboards, reports, KPI’s and analytical products with the objective to provide a deep understanding of performance for: banking products, customer portfolio, customer behavior, risk drivers and operational processes.
- Translate business questions into structured analytical problems and guide the team in delivering clear, actionable insights.
- Interpret complex datasets to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities that support business growth, risk mitigation and operational efficiency.
- Partner with Product, Operations teams, Risk, Finance and Compliance to ensure analytics align with business priorities.
- Partner with Data Engineering team to develop the relevant collection of readily available data products to support timely and efficient data analysis.
- Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency gains across the analytics lifecycle.
- Ensure consistency, accuracy and clarity in all analytical deliverables.
- Partner with Data Science specialists to orchestrate complex analytical projects.
📌 Team Leadership & Performance Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data analysts, fostering a culture of continuous learning and analytical excellence.
- Set clear performance goals and provide coaching to enhance technical and business skills.
- Allocate workload effectively, ensuring timely delivery of high‑quality analysis.
- Promote collaboration, knowledge sharing and best practices across the analytics function.
- Build strong team engagement, development and performance.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong experience in data analysis and reporting within the banking or financial services industry in the context described above.
- Proficiency in SQL, data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, R etc.), and analytical frameworks.
- Solid understanding of banking products, financial metrics, regulatory requirements and risk management concepts.
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to motivate and develop analytical talent.
- Strong communication skills, capable of presenting insights to senior stakeholders in a clear, business‑focused manner.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under tight timelines.
- Experience working with compliance, audit, or risk management teams.
