Senior Asset Manager – Planning, Reliability & Lifecycle Management (Noatum ports)
Job Purpose
The Senior Asset Manager – Planning, Reliability & Lifecycle Management is responsible for providing strategic leadership and technical oversight to develop, implement, and continuously improve asset management strategies across the ports terminal portfolio.
The primary objective of this role is to ensure optimal asset availability, reliability, performance consistency, and lifecycle cost optimization, while ensuring compliance with corporate policies, safety standards, and international asset management best practices. The role directly supports operational excellence, risk reduction, and long-term financial sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
1. Asset Lifecycle Management & Reliability
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive asset lifecycle management frameworks covering acquisition, registration, operation, maintenance, renewal, and disposal.
- Ensure integrity, accuracy, and completeness of asset data within the MAXIMO CMMS, including asset master data, maintenance history, commissioning, transfer, and disposal records.
- Monitor asset performance, availability, and reliability metrics; identify bottlenecks and initiate corrective actions to improve equipment uptime and lifecycle value.
- Analyze breakdown data and conduct structured root cause analysis (RCA) using recognized methodologies to define and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Perform asset utilization analysis, spare parts consumption reviews, and fuel/electricity consumption assessments to support asset replacement, reallocation, or disposal decisions.
2. Planning, Budgeting & Financial Control
- Develop, monitor, and control asset-related budgets, expenditures, and forecasts to ensure alignment with approved financial plans.
- Support annual business planning, budgeting cycles, objective setting, and KPI development by providing accurate asset and performance data.
- Support asset capitalization, expenditure requests, net book value tracking, and asset-related financial reporting.
3. Systems, Data & Reporting
- Ensure effective governance of asset management systems, including MAXIMO and ERP platforms (e.g., Oracle).
- Monitor, analyze, and validate terminal asset data and prepare executive-level dashboards and performance reports.
- Identify system enhancement requirements and coordinate functional improvements related to asset management processes.
4. Compliance, Risk & Audit
- Ensure full compliance with corporate asset management policies, ISO 55001 standards, and HSE requirements across all terminals.
- Lead and coordinate internal and external asset management audits and develop terminal-level improvement action plans.
- Support departmental risk identification, assessment, and mitigation planning to minimize operational and financial exposure.
- Ensure timely closure of audit findings and non-conformities with documented evidence and corrective actions.
5. Continuous Improvement & Best Practices
- Assess and implement industry best practices, new technologies, and innovative methodologies to enhance asset reliability and lifecycle performance.
- Ensure the implementation of effective quality control systems related to asset management activities.
- Actively engage with terminals to maintain proactive dialogue, identify emerging risks, and flag areas of concern.
6. Stakeholder Engagement & Support
- Provide expert guidance and support to internal stakeholders on asset management-related matters.
- Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, finance, material control, and corporate asset management teams to ensure integrated asset governance.
- Support intercompany services, asset transfers, disposal transactions, and spare parts optimization initiatives.
7. People Management
- Coach, mentor, and engage team members in the development and execution of the annual departmental plan.
- Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing across engineering and asset teams.
8. Other Responsibilities
- Perform any additional duties related to asset management as assigned by the Director.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Marine, or related discipline).
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Management, or Business Administration is an advantage.
- Certified Lead Auditor for ISO 55001:2014 is highly desirable.
Language Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are a must.
Years of Experience
- 8–15 years of progressive experience in asset management, reliability, or engineering roles.
- Proven experience within ports, terminals, heavy industry, manufacturing, or similar asset-intensive environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with CMMS/ERP systems such as MAXIMO and Oracle.
