We are looking for outstanding candidates to join us as full time Software Engineers. Successful candidates will have to solve complex and broad business problems with simple and straightforward solutions, applying appropriate technologies and software engineering best practices, building stable solutions that perform at scale. You will work with partners across the business to enable operational efficiencies and develop new technologies to conduct business with Wayfair’s network of suppliers.

What You Will Do

  • Work in a highly collaborative environment interacting closely with other software engineers, product managers, designers, and operations to identify opportunities and implement solutions
  • Hands-on development, including inception, design, execution, and delivery following good design, coding practices and engineering rigor
  • Design, build, and maintain robust, scalable, and efficient backend services and APIs using Java, ensuring high performance, reliability, and responsiveness
  • Focus on quality and production readiness for the team including testing, monitoring, deployment, documentation, support and proactive troubleshooting of the deliverables owned and delivered.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex system issues, ensuring platform stability, security, and scalability.
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipeline improvements, automated testing, and participate in the on-call rotation to ensure operational excellence and overall platform health
  • Influence and contribute to the team’s strategy and roadmap Help grow other engineers technically by sharing, pairing, and developing other opportunities for education
  • Identify risks and gaps in technical approaches and propose solutions to meet team and project goals
  • Stay current with evolving technologies and industry best practices to enable continuous system and process improvements

What You Will Need

  • 3-5 years of experience in software engineering, with a strong track record of building scalable platforms or internal tools that support large-scale operations
  • Proficiency with Java and Python
  • Front end development experience, including technologies such as React, Javascript, Typescript, and HTML
  • Experience in backend development using object-oriented languages (e.g., Java), and proficiency with both relational and non-relational databases
  • Experience with Continuous Integration (CI/CD), agile methodologies, and modern DevOps practices
  • Experience building solutions leveraging distributed infrastructure (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, etc)
  • Experience leveraging monitoring and logging technologies (e.g. DataDog, Elasticsearch, InfluxDB, etc)
  • Experience building, deploying, and supporting serverless applications in GCP, Azure, or AWS
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work across teams

Nice to Have

  • Experience integrating front-end components with REST APIs or GraphQL services.
  • PHP development experience
  • Experience with Terraform or similar infrastructure as code technologies
  • Experience in leveraging AI tools to accelerate software development and testing
  • E-commerce domain experience in areas such as inventory, order fulfillment, and shipment tracking
  • Experience building and supporting complex B2B web-based system integrations
