Deep Learning Engineer

A Global semiconductor giant based in Amsterdam are seeking to bolster their team with a talented Senior Deep Learning Engineer.

Please note this opportunity is based on-site in Amsterdam and requires rights to work in the Netherlands in place before starting.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct and rapidly iterate on deep learning research, designing and implementing novel models and algorithms that improve inference efficiency.
• Advance the state of the art in on-device efficiency for large language and vision models through techniques such as quantization, compression, and conditional or adaptive compute.
• Collaborate closely with researchers and engineers to translate research ideas into deployable solutions for real-world edge devices.
• Produce both scientific and business impact by driving research breakthroughs that can scale to millions of deployed devices.
• Stay current with the latest developments in AI and ML, publishing research in leading conferences and engaging with the broader academic community.

Requirements:

• PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field, or equivalent practical research experience.
• Demonstrated experience in deep learning research, with hands-on involvement across the full research lifecycle from ideation to evaluation.
• Strong programming skills in Python and hands-on experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or JAX.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable research code and apply best practices for experimentation and prototyping.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a collaborative mindset when working with cross-functional teams.
