Job title: Head of Engineering
Location: Remote (CET ±2h preferred)
Company: wetracked.iod
Salary: €130K - €160K yearly gross
🌍 About wetracked.io
wetracked.io is a fast-growing start-up redefining the way businesses manage tracking and performance analytics. We’re a remote-first team driven by innovation, transparency, and building tools that truly empower our customers. As we scale globally, we’re looking for smart, proactive team members who thrive in fast-paced environments and are ready to grow with us.
🚀 Role overview
We’re looking for a proven, fast-moving technical leader who’s led engineering at a high-growth SaaS before and thrives on speed and results over perfection. This is not a “big company” role, it’s for someone who loves building lean, high-velocity engineering cultures where shipping matters more than shiny architecture.
You’ll be responsible for leading a small but growing engineering team, establishing strong product–engineering collaboration, and helping the company scale its product delivery from “idea to live” in weeks, not months.
🧠What you’ll do
- Lead and scale a small engineering team (2–5 engineers) with a focus on velocity, learning, and ownership.
- Balance trade-offs between technical excellence and business speed: make smart, pragmatic calls that drive retention and revenue.
- Partner closely with Asad (co-founder) to translate business goals into engineering priorities and give him the confidence to let go of the day-to-day.
- Drive quality through iteration: ship MVPs fast, learn from usage, and evolve based on data and customer feedback.
- Bring structure and clarity to the team without adding bureaucracy.
- Stay hands-on enough to ask the right questions about technical choices and ensure architectural decisions support speed and maintainability.
🧩 What we’re looking for
- 10–15 years of experience in software engineering, with proven leadership experience (teams of ~10 engineers).
- Experience in startups or scale-ups ($10–20M ARR) where speed > perfection.
- Strong understanding of business–technology trade-offs — knows when to take on technical debt if it drives growth.
- We move fast, communicate directly, and value clarity over politics. If that sounds like your kind of environment, we’d love to talk.
- Experience with MVP iteration cycles and a build–measure–learn mentality.
- Deep sense of ownership and accountability.
- You are a hands-on person, the team is 4FTE so this means being hands-on yourself is a musthave
- Pragmatic, efficient, and “walked the talk”: speaks from hands-on experience, not management theory.
- Works well in CET or nearby time zones.
Tech stack & expertise
- Frontend: Deep expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript (including advanced type design), React, Next.js, and scalable component systems with Tailwind.
- Backend: Strong command of Node.js runtime, GraphQL schema governance, secure API design, and monorepo architectures (pnpm/turborepo).
- Operations: CI/CD pipelines, distributed observability (logging, metrics, tracing), and performance diagnostics across browser and server layers.
