System Engineer

Overview

Profectus is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to support the delivery and assurance of complex ICT capabilities within a Defence environment.

This role suits a practitioner who is comfortable working across architecture, integration, governance and engineering assurance, and who can operate confidently in a structured, security-focused setting.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain system design artefacts, including architecture, integration and performance documentation
• Produce engineering governance and compliance artefacts, including configuration baselines and review records
• Support system integration activities across applications, infrastructure and networks
• Deliver engineering assurance outputs, including objective quality evidence and review documentation
• Contribute to lifecycle management, change, sustainment and continuous improvement activities
• Engage with technical stakeholders to resolve complex system issues and ensure alignment with requirements

Skills and experience

• Proven experience as a Systems Engineer in Defence or complex government environments
• Strong background in systems integration, engineering documentation and assurance
• Experience working with formal engineering frameworks, governance and compliance processes
• Ability to operate across multiple stakeholders and technical disciplines
• Strong written communication skills, particularly for producing technical artefacts
