As a Data Scientist at Cloover, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting teams across the company—including finance, sales, and marketing—by providing actionable data insights and helping us achieve our climate goals. Your responsibilities include:

We’re building the OS for renewable energy installers, streamlining their operations from financing to working capital management. Our platform enables providers of renewable technologies to offer embedded financing options to their customers, empowering more individuals and businesses to install solar panels, battery storage, EV charging stations, and heat pumps, transforming them into independent energy suppliers.
We aim to make sustainable financing simpler, faster, and more affordable, bringing renewable energy to every household and business.
We are on an exciting growth journey, currently operating in the Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland, and Germany, with plans to expand to additional European markets in the coming year.
Responsibilities
As a Data Scientist at Cloover, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting teams across the company—including finance, sales, and marketing—by providing actionable data insights and helping us achieve our climate goals. Your responsibilities include:
- Supporting the design, testing, and refinement of credit risk models and portfolio analytics that drive renewable energy financing.
- Analyzing and optimizing large datasets stored in Google BigQuery to uncover trends and enable data-driven decision-making.
- Building and maintaining dashboards in Metabase for monitoring key performance metrics (KPIs) across finance, sales, and marketing.
- Conducting data exploration to uncover actionable insights for business strategy and renewable energy project financing.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop predictive models, automate data pipelines, and integrate new datasets.
- Helping the sales and marketing teams identify customer patterns, improve conversion rates, and optimize campaign performance.
- Preparing visualizations and reports to communicate insights to internal teams and external stakeholders, including lenders and investors.
- You are a student or recent graduate of a top-tier university in data science, statistics, computer science, finance, or a related field.
- Proficiency in at least one programming or query language such as Python, SQL, or R; expertise in all is not required but is a bonus.
- A strong foundation in statistics, probability, and machine learning concepts.
- Previous experience (internships or academic projects) with data analysis, financial modeling, or credit risk is highly valued.
- Knowledge of financial markets, debt instruments, or renewable energy systems is an advantage.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail and a drive to take ownership of tasks.
- Fluency in English; German is a plus, but not required.
- Passion for climate action and an eagerness to contribute to solutions that make a tangible impact.
- Availability for a 3-6 month internship, starting as soon as possible.
