Senior Java Developer – 12 Month Contract, Hybrid, Dublin

What’s Involved

• Designing, enhancing, and maintaining large-scale Java-based enterprise applications across both legacy and modernised components
• Developing with Java 8+, Spring (Core, MVC, Security), JSP/XHTML, JavaScript, and WebSphere Application Server
• Performing technical analysis, resolving complex defects, and contributing to system releases
• Building and optimising integrations using REST/SOAP services, JMS, and middleware platforms
• Working with enterprise databases to ensure data integrity, transactional consistency, and performance
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams including analysts, QA, architects, and infrastructure specialists

What’s Needed

• 7+ years’ overall development experience, with at least 5 years in Java enterprise environments
• Strong hands-on expertise with Java, Spring, WebSphere, and IBM DB2, including performance tuning
• Solid experience working with REST/SOAP services, authentication mechanisms, and enterprise data structures
• Proven ability to analyse complex legacy systems and translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Excellent debugging, problem-solving, and code analysis skills
• Strong communication skills and experience working in Agile or structured delivery environments
