As Solution Developer at SEB in Riga, you build large-scale Big Data solutions, processing streaming and batch data. Making data accessible is central to our business, and our work enables the delivery of our digital services to our customers. With us you make this possible, working with our modern tech stack and the Accounts and Payments data that is at the core of our business.

About the job:

As a developer at SEB in Riga you develop and maintain complex Big Data solutions and data pipelines, enabling efficient and qualitative analyses and reporting of large-scale transactional data.

You belong to a team of competent and highly motivated Developers and Data Engineers, and together you solve complex problems, processing and streaming data from various sources into our big data platforms. Your competence and expertise are trusted to make big-picture decisions and given creative leeway.

We use Hadoop for storing and processing data and Apache solutions such as Airflow for workflow management. We also use Apache Kafka, Spark and Hive for large-scale data processing, streaming and storage.

Along with this we are establishing new pipelines using Google Cloud such as Dataflow using Java, Cloud functions, Google Pubsub, BigQuery and BigTable.

In addition our team supports a set of container-based microservices and you will work with Kubernetes, OpenShift. We are working with Scala, Java and Spring Boot.

Your team:

You will work within Analytics and Reporting in Riga, belonging to a team of developers working with our big data and reporting solutions;
With us, ideas and initiatives are always welcome and we share our knowledge among each other;
We have different levels of experience in the team, and as an adept colleague, you will help teach and guide your co-workers with your experience;
We belong to the Accounts & Payments domain, consisting of 350 colleagues across Tech Areas and Business Divisions.

Who are you:

Experienced Solution Developer, have worked with developing Spark or Spring boot applications and solutions from scratch;
Experienced in programming with Java and Scala;
Some experience working with Cloud Solutions and infrastructure as code;
You have a passion for expanding your knowledge and new ways of working;
Your enjoy sharing your knowledge on Big Data tech and tools, and you have an interest in taking on larger responsibilities within agile development;
We at SEB work agile with SAFe and it is a plus if you have experience of working within the SAFe framework;
We believe that you are a person who understand complex issues and challenges. You like to solve problems with a systematic but still innovative approach. This role includes close contact with your team and other stakeholders, therefore we believe that you are a person with great communication and documentation skills who likes to cooperate with others;
Fluent English in verbal and written and good communication skills. Work execution is related to foreign countries.

Optionally you have:

Interest in global financial markets and financial products;
Experience advising and assisting junior or less technical colleagues;
Previous work experience with: C++, C# or Java;
Experience with containers and container orchestration systems;
Experience with cloud based data warehouses such as BigQuery, Redshift or Snowflake.

€3,600 - €5,500 a month

Monthly salary range indicated for this position is before tax deduction. The offer for final candidate* will depend on experience and competences of the candidate for the required job.
