NET/C# Backend Developer – Stockholm (Hybrid)

Full-time | Stockholm | Hybrid (2–3 days/week in office)

Please note: only candidates already living in Sweden can be considered.

Are you a highly skilled backend .NET developer who enjoys solving complex technical and mathematical problems? Do you thrive in fast-paced environments where clean, efficient, and bug‑free code truly matters?

We are hiring two experienced Backend .NET/C# Developers on behalf of a rapidly growing game studio with offices in Stockholm and Helsinki. Their Stockholm office is the technical hub, and this role focuses purely on backend engineering — no architecture, no leadership responsibilities, just deep technical problem‑solving.

This team builds the backend game servers powering real‑money online slot games distributed globally. Every game functions as its own project, typically built within 1–3 months, and 75% of its revenue is generated in the first two months — meaning code quality and stability are mission‑critical.

What you will work on:

  • Building and maintaining backend game server logic and systems
  • Solving challenging technical and mathematical problems related to game logic
  • Contributing to high‑stakes releases where stability, correctness, and performance are essential
  • Working in a creative, cross‑functional environment alongside developers, artists, designers, and composers
  • Participating in a collaborative, ego‑free team with a strong engineering culture

What we’re looking for:

Required experience & skills:

  • 5+ years of backend-heavy development with .NET/C#
  • Strong focus on delivering clean, high-quality, bug‑free code
  • Proficiency in TypeScript
  • Mathematical or engineering background
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field
  • Fluent English
  • Someone who wants a hands‑on coding role (not aiming for architecture or management)

Bonus:

  • Experience with complex logic, probabilistic systems, or game development
  • Interest in performance optimisation and high‑load systems

Why this role might excite you:

1. High-impact engineering work

You’ll build the mission-critical backend systems for games that generate meaningful commercial results within days of launch. The work is analytical, challenging, and highly rewarding for developers who love solving tough problems.

2. Supportive, creative, and genuinely friendly culture

You’ll work with a diverse team — developers, artists, designers, musicians — in a no‑ego environment where collaboration and respect define the culture.

3. A great Stockholm office and strong social environment

The office is well-equipped, social, and fun:

  • Latest Mac hardware
  • Option for a company iPhone with paid subscription
  • Beers in the office on Fridays
  • Regular social events, team trips, and celebrations

Compensation & benefits:

  • Standard Swedish pension & insurance package
  • Private healthcare insurance
  • 5,000 SEK yearly wellness allowance
  • Hybrid work model (2–3 days/week in the office)

The team:

You’ll join a small and senior group based in Sweden:

  • 2 senior developers
  • 1 junior developer
  • Hiring 2 more developers due to growth

Hybrid-first culture, but strong preference for candidates who can work regularly from the Stockholm office. Candidates in Helsinki are also welcome.
