About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff iOS Engineer to join our dynamic team at Capital One Canada. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for motivating, managing, and inspiring a team of talented software engineers to develop innovative mobile solutions. You will participate actively in the hands-on development process, ensuring the delivery of high-quality products that enhance our customers' financial experiences. Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in any field, complemented by extensive hands-on experience in mobile application development. You should have at least 6 years of experience developing native iOS applications using Swift and SwiftUI, with a strong understanding of application design, technical architecture, and full-cycle development processes. Proven leadership experience, including mentoring junior and intermediate developers, is essential. You should also have experience guiding technical and business stakeholders, demonstrating excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Additional qualifications include a comprehensive understanding of software engineering practices within agile environments, experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, and familiarity with open source frameworks. A track record of delivering scalable, secure, and user-friendly mobile applications is highly desirable. Candidates with more than 8 years of full lifecycle development leadership and exposure to modern cloud-native architectures will be preferred.

Responsibilities

Your primary responsibilities will include owning and leading the delivery of major components and platform needs in collaboration with senior engineers and architects. You will work closely with a dynamic mobile team throughout all stages of the Software Development Life Cycle, from planning and design to implementation, testing, and deployment. Improving software engineering practices within the team will be a key focus, promoting best practices, code quality, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD).

You will contribute your technical expertise to influence how emerging technologies impact our domain, ensuring our mobile solutions remain innovative and competitive. Providing mentorship and guidance to junior, intermediate, and senior mobile associates is essential to foster professional growth within the team. Additionally, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technical solutions with business objectives, ensuring seamless integration and optimal user experiences.
