Site Reliability / Platform Engineer (SRE)

Agileday
Finland · Full-time · Entry

Are you ready to build the machine that builds the future of work?

Hi, I’m Hannu, one of the four founders at Agileday, and I’m looking for a site reliability engineer (SRE) to join our team.

To put it short, we’re scaling fast. We recently closed our Series A funding round, and as we expand globally into the US and beyond, we are taking our operational consistency to a global scale. To achieve that, we need an SRE who doesn't just "fix servers" but helps us evolve our resilient, AI-native foundation to support our rapidly growing base of global enterprise partners.

Are you obsessed with the idea of getting changes to production in minutes rather than hours or days? Do you want to build on our existing automation to create a self-healing pipeline that uses AI agents to guarantee our global SLO? If you’re nodding your head, you can keep on reading (and hopefully nodding).

About the job

As our Site Reliability Engineer, you will join our Platform team, working with our platform lead Henrik to co-architect and evolve our cloud environment and delivery engine. Together, you will be the core duo responsible for our Google Cloud foundation and the Terraform-based infrastructure powering our global operations. You will play a central role in evolving our CI/CD throughput, ensuring our engineering team maintains a high-speed commit-to-production flow even as our codebase and complexity double. Together, you’ll ensure our US and EU data residency is airtight, and our cloud architecture remains resilient and cost-efficient as we scale.

In a nutshell, you’ll be the enabler to help keep our platform running smoothly and support teams with delivering value for our customers.

Key responsibilities

  • Pipelines: Architect and optimize our GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines to maximize developer flow, reducing "wait time" and ensuring that scaling our team doesn't mean slowing our delivery.

  • Architecture: Lead the technical strategy for multi-region resilience and regional data residency to support our expanding customer base in the US and Europe.

  • Platform engineering and developer velocity: Treat our infrastructure as a product. You will evolve our Terraform-based foundation and GitHub Actions pipelines into a high-performance "Platform-as-a-Service" for our developers. Your goal is to make the right way the easy way, enabling our team to deploy global, multi-region services with the same level of craftsmanship and speed we apply to our core product.

  • Operational Intelligence: Implement advanced observability and "Golden Signal" monitoring to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks before they affect customers.

What we expect from you

  • Pipeline proficiency: You know your way with GitHub Actions and have experience building custom actions and automated triage flows.

  • Infrastructure architect: You have managed complex, multi-environment setups using Terraform and understand how to build modular, maintainable IaC (bonus points if you’ve used CDKTF or know Infrastructure-as-Software patterns).

  • GCP proficiency: Experience with Google Cloud Platform, specifically Cloud Run, Cloud SQL, Pub/Sub, Identity Platform, load balancing, networks, and IAM.

  • Reliability mindset: You prioritize stability and security but understand that in a fast-growing startup, "safe enough to try" is often better than "waiting for perfect."

Bonus points for

  • Proficiency in Go: Our backend is Go, and we expect our infrastructure tools to be built with the same level of craftsmanship.

  • Experience with VPC Service Controls and Service Account Impersonation.

  • Passion for AI-Native Ops: Using LLMs to analyze logs or self-heal failing E2E tests.

About Agileday

Although we think our website headline, “The AI operating platform for professional services”, neatly summarizes what we do, we wanted to give a bit more flesh to the bones, so here we go.

In 2022, we founded Agileday to help consulting and other knowledge‑work firms centralize sales, staffing, skills, projects, time, and financials into a single source of truth, enabling teams to plan work, staff projects, and track outcomes without silos. If that sounds complicated, you should see the spreadsheets these companies ran on before adopting our software.

In a nutshell, Agileday…

  • Matches people's skills and interests to live opportunities and projects.
  • Connects the pipeline to capacity so salespeople know what can be sold and when.
  • Aligns staffing with strategy, margin targets, and people's preferences.
  • Gives everyone real‑time visibility into projects, utilization, workloads, and forecasts.

…so that companies can…

  • Increase win rates and accelerate staffing with a live view of their pipeline and skills.
  • Improve utilization while balancing workloads to keep teams healthy and happy.
  • Predict revenue and profitability more accurately with connected, real-time data.
  • Keep their employees happy by letting them affect their work.

Why join us now?

  • We’re growing. We’ve already expanded our business across continents and have the funds to continue scaling and improving our product to meet our vision.

  • The industry is changing. Thanks to AI, the professional services industry is undergoing what is likely the biggest shift in decades. We believe putting people at the center will be a significant part of the change.

  • We’re a kind team. We’re a team of around 20 professionals, and while we work hard to build a world-class product, we’re still kind to each other.

  • Autonomy & Trust: We hire smart people and trust them. We expect people to take ownership of problems and implement solutions.

Tips for applying

  1. Write a personal application. We are humans (we believe), and you're a human (hopefully), so let's skip the "Dear Hiring Manager" formalities and get straight to the good stuff. Start with "Hi Hannu!" and you have our attention.
  2. Let your work speak for itself. Words sometimes fail to capture the brilliance of a system you've architected. We’d love to see your work in action. Share your GitHub account or technical blog posts with pieces that make you proud—whether it’s a clever automation script, a complex Terraform module, or a project that showcases your knack for operational craftsmanship and system design.
  3. Relate to the job ad. We crafted this job ad with heart and a touch of humour, hoping it would resonate with someone like you. When applying, share what parts of the ad caught your eye, what made you smile, or what questions popped up. It's a great way to show you're genuinely interested, not just in a resume-sending spree.
