Summary

Cobalt are working with a professional services firm to appoint a Crypto Risk Consultant into a specialist advisory role focused on digital assets and regulatory risk.

This position sits within a risk and compliance advisory team supporting clients operating in the crypto and fintech space. The role focuses on governance, risk, and control frameworks, with particular emphasis on MiCAR and other EU regulatory requirements. It is well suited to someone who enjoys technical work, regulatory analysis, and hands-on client engagement.

The role

You will support clients with risk, audit, and regulatory readiness work across digital asset activities. Key responsibilities include:

Supporting risk and internal audit reviews for crypto and fintech businesses
Assessing governance structures, operational resilience, and compliance frameworks
Evaluating risk management practices and control environments
Assisting with MiCAR readiness and regulatory gap analysis
Contributing to assurance reporting and senior stakeholder insights
Keeping up to date with EU digital asset regulation, including MiCAR and DORA
Working alongside colleagues across risk, technology, and compliance functions

About you

2–5 years’ experience in risk, audit, or compliance within crypto, fintech, or financial services
Understanding of digital asset risk frameworks and EU regulatory requirements
Exposure to crypto custody, trading platforms, or blockchain technology is beneficial
Strong analytical skills with the ability to communicate clearly and practically
Professional qualifications or relevant certifications are advantageous
