A dedicated startup is being formed to industrialize and scale a secure, AI-enabled, multi-source decision-support software offering. The platform is a multi-sensor fusion and agentic AI solution connecting to diverse data sources (for example geospatial layers, imagery, video, and other operational signals). This role will support the delivery of a scalable product and contribute to establishing the processes, standards, and collaboration practices required for sustainable growth.
The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining secure, scalable, and highly available cloud environments. This role focuses on building robust infrastructure on AWS (or multi-cloud environments, if applicable), automating operational processes, and ensuring the reliability and performance of cloud-based systems. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with strong problem-solving skills and a passion for automation and cloud-native technologies.
Job Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure using AWS services such as EC2, VPC, IAM, RDS, Lambda, ECS/EKS, and S3.
- Build and maintain Infrastructure‑as‑Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK.
- Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines to support automated deployments and testing.
- Monitor system performance, availability, and security using cloud‑native and third‑party tools.
- Implement best practices for cloud security, identity management, and compliance.
- Collaborate with development teams to support application deployment, scalability, and performance tuning.
- Troubleshoot cloud infrastructure issues and provide root‑cause analysis.
- Manage networking configurations including load balancers, DNS, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Drive cost optimization initiatives and ensure efficient use of cloud resources.
- Maintain documentation for architecture, processes, and operational procedures.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Typically 5+ years of relevant experience in a fast-paced product environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3-7 years of experience in cloud infrastructure engineering or DevOps roles.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS (Azure or GCP experience is a plus).
- Preferred proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform preferred).
- Solid understanding of Linux systems, networking fundamentals, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions and GitLab CI.
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog, etc.).
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Understanding of cloud security principles and best practices.
- Experience working in Agile or DevOps-oriented environments.
