My client is seeking a mid-level PHP Developer to join their team and work on business-critical systems that handle high volumes of data and financial transactions. Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs using Laravel, Symfony, or similar frameworks
• Build new features and improve existing PHP applications
• Refactor and optimise legacy code safely
• Write efficient MySQL queries and work with ORMs while understanding underlying SQL
• Integrate third-party APIs, webhooks, and SFTP feeds
• Implement background tasks and scheduled jobs
• Debug production issues and contribute to code reviews

What We’re Looking For:

• 3–5 years commercial PHP experience
• Strong OOP and MVC knowledge
• Hands-on experience with Laravel or Symfony in production
• Solid MySQL/SQL skills (joins, indexes, transactions)
• Understanding of REST APIs and HTTP fundamentals
• Comfortable with Git, command line, and Linux basics
• Detail-oriented, careful, and production-focused
• Clear communicator and team player

Nice to Have:

• Doctrine, Eloquent, or other ORM experience
• Background processing / cron jobs
• Experience with data-heavy or transactional systems
• Familiarity with frontend frameworks or UI libraries
