Responsibilities

  • Improve solutions for screen capture, streaming, and remote control of mobile devices.
  • Analyze, design, and implement new features related to mobile devices.
  • Provide technical leadership to the development team.
  • Automate the maintenance of mobile devices.

About the role:

We offer an opportunity to work on a production-deployed system that manages hundreds of real devices and virtual machines (Android, iOS, macOS, Windows, and Linux) across multiple locations.

We are looking for an experienced software engineer who will help build and improve systems that control, manage, and enable the mobile devices we provide to our customers. Your primary responsibility will be to design, develop, and maintain features of BitBar.

You will collaborate closely with other mobile team members and engineers working across all layers of the application.

Requirements:

  • Willingness to explore, learn, experiment, and apply new ideas in practice.
  • Proficiency in at least one compiled language such as Java, C++ or Go
  • Experience with scripting languages (Unix shell, Python).
  • Hands-on experience with Linux and/or macOS operating systems.
  • Experience in designing IT architecture.
  • Familiarity with virtualization and containerization technologies.
  • Strong understanding of version control tools (Git, GitHub).
  • 8+ years of experience as a software engineer.
  • English proficiency at least at B2 level.

Nice to Have

  • macOS or iOS development using Xcode.
  • Android development using Android Studio.
  • Experience with Appium or Selenium development.
  • Android and/or iOS mobile operating systems.
  • Network infrastructure and protocols.
  • Tools such as adb, go-ios, or pymobiledevice.
  • Video and audio codecs (e.g., GStreamer, FFmpeg).
  • WebRTC standard

  • Learn new programming languages and tools as needed.
  • Take ownership of their work and be accountable for results.
  • Proactively diagnose and solve problems in creative ways.
  • Use reverse engineering as a viable approach to achieve results.
