Join Our M&A Analytics Team — Deloitte Strategy & Transaction is Looking for New Colleagues

Deloitte
Norway · Full-time · Associate

Are you passionate about leveraging data and analytics to gain powerful insights and drive strategic M&A decisions?

Be a part of the fast-growing area of M&A Analytics, where we use data to drive insights and decisions in transaction processes. Data analytics within M&A is not just about processing financial numbers, it is about creating a story which explains the historical performance of a business and the trajectory that the business is on. Our role is to transform complex data engineering and analytics tasks into simple, compelling narratives, providing strategic insights that have a direct impact on the deal at hand. The primary focus will be on M&A engagements, with additional responsibilities including post-deal client support to enhance internal processes and management reporting.

As an analyst in our M&A offering you will be part of a project team working with both M&A specialists and analytics specialists across the Nordics. Your role will involve utilising data analytics techniques to gain insights into a target business and support delivering those insights to our clients.

In this role, you will make an impact by:

  • Playing a key role in supporting clients throughout M&A processes in a client-facing role.
  • Gaining valuable insights across a diverse range of industries and businesses through a dynamic, project-based work environment.
  • Rapidly developing a deep understanding of businesses and the factors that drive their performance.
  • Transforming large datasets into clear, relevant, and compelling analyses.
  • Developing both static and interactive data visualisations to effectively communicate business insights, supporting analysis of historical trading, quality of earnings, working capital, and more.
  • Collaborating closely with Deloitte engagement teams and clients, ensuring clear communication of requirements, timelines, and insights to all stakeholders.

Qualifications

We are excited to welcome candidates with a strong academic background who are eager to grow and develop their skills. While prior experience with M&A and analytics is a plus, it is not a requirement.

What you bring to the team:

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Business, Engineering, Economics, Mathematics, Computational Sciences, or a related field. Candidates may be recent graduates (expected graduation winter/summer 2026) or have 1–2 years of relevant experience.
  • Some academic or professional exposure to areas such as M&A, Business Intelligence (BI), or Business Analytics (BA), or simply a strong personal interest in big data and visualisation within commercial settings.
  • Proficiency and familiarity within data management, cleansing, querying, and manipulation using tools like SQL, Python or Alteryx. Knowledge of data visualisation tools such as Power BI (including DAX) and Excel (pivot tables, Power Query, etc.) is also advantageous.
  • Confidence in working with data, analysing information, and sharing your findings clearly, both verbally and in writing.
  • A curious, analytical mindset with a structured and methodical approach, alongside a understanding of finance, accounting, and business strategy.
  • A desire to work in the fast-paced M&A environment combined with strong business insight and interest in finding the true drivers behind the numbers in any business.
