Business Analyst - Payments/FInTech

Our client is a MAS-regulated digital payments platform enabling businesses to build, launch, and scale secure digital payment and digital asset solutions. Operating across payments, wallets, cross-border transfers, and digital assets, they provide an end-to-end platform that combines technology, compliance, and operational resilience in a highly regulated environment.

As they continue to grow, they are now looking for a techno-functional business analyst to play a critical role in bridging business needs, regulatory requirements, and technology delivery.

About The Role:

You will act as a key interface between product, engineering, compliance, operations, finance, and client teams, translating complex business and regulatory requirements into clear functional and technical specifications.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll be involved end-to-end — from requirements gathering and solution design through to UAT and post-implementation support.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

Business & Functional Analysis:

• Work closely with Product, Operations, Compliance, Finance, and Client teams to gather and document requirements
• Translate regulatory, operational, and client needs into functional specs, user stories, and acceptance criteria
• Analyse end-to-end payment flows including collections, payouts, FX, settlement, reconciliation, and exceptions
• Identify process gaps, risks, and inefficiencies, proposing pragmatic, compliant solutions

Technical & System Analysis:

• Partner with engineers on technical designs, APIs, integrations, and data models
• Contribute to architecture discussions to ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and compliant
• Perform data analysis using SQL or similar tools for validation, investigations, and reporting
• Support integrations with banks, PSPs, blockchain networks, and KYC/KYT vendors

Delivery & Stakeholder Management:

• Support Agile delivery including backlog grooming, sprint planning, and prioritisation
• Lead and participate in UAT planning, test scenario creation, and defect triage
• Ensure MAS, AML/CFT, KYT, and transaction monitoring requirements are embedded into system design
• Communicate clearly across technical and non-technical stakeholders

Documentation & Governance:

• Produce and maintain BRDs, FRDs, user stories, process flows, and system diagrams
• Ensure full traceability from business requirements to technical delivery and testing
• Support audits and regulatory reviews with clear, structured documentation

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst / Techno-Functional Analyst in FinTech, payments, banking, or financial services
• Strong understanding of payments, wallets, cross-border transfers, FX, reconciliation, or digital assets
• Experience working in regulated environments (e.g. MAS, AML/CFT)
• Solid grasp of system architecture, APIs (REST/JSON), databases, and data flows
• Hands-on experience producing functional specs and supporting technical solution design
• Familiarity with Agile / Scrum
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving, startup-style environment

Nice-to-Have:

• Exposure to blockchain, digital payment tokens, or crypto-related flows
• Experience with KYC/KYT, transaction monitoring, or fraud systems
• Knowledge of regional payment schemes or cross-border banking integrations
• Experience supporting platform scaling or greenfield builds
