About The Role
- Support the delivery of clinical and translational research focused on cardiovascular haemodynamics within the Heart Failure and Transplant Unit, contributing to high-quality, patient-centred research outcomes.
- Assist with patient screening, enrolment, and assessment for clinical trial eligibility, and collect accurate haemodynamic and clinical data in line with study protocols and timelines.
- Perform non-invasive haemodynamic studies for research purposes following appropriate training and competency assessment.
- Coordinate and manage data collection across multiple research projects, ensuring data integrity, effective organisation, and timely reporting.
- Ensure all research activities comply with NHMRC Guidelines, ICH-GCP, Australian regulatory requirements, and privacy legislation, including oversight of ethics and governance documentation.
- Contribute to data analysis, reporting, and dissemination of research outcomes, while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary research team and supporting quality improvement initiatives.
- Relevant undergraduate or early postgraduate qualifications in medical science, biomedical engineering, physiology, or a related discipline, with demonstrated experience working in a clinical research setting.
- Proven experience supporting clinical research activities, including participant screening and enrolment, secure data collection and management, and adherence to research protocols.
- Strong computer literacy, with experience in clinical study databases, basic statistical analysis, and programming using platforms such as MATLAB and/or Python.
- Well-developed analytical skills with the ability to rapidly learn new concepts and techniques, including biological signal processing and non-invasive haemodynamic data analysis.
- Knowledge of human research ethics and governance processes, including HREC and RGO submissions, with a strong understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, use initiative, and manage competing priorities in a complex environment.
