Opportunity for a Data Engineer who is specialised in Databricks to help reduce 40% of Finland's carbon emissions.
How are they doing this? By creating a data platform that will allow them to be more efficient in the switch from coal to electric based energy, making use of wasted heat - all powered by data and AI.
Interested? Then I've summarised more about the company and position below, so take a look.
One of Finland’s largest energy companies is building their data team with an experienced data engineer who will support their data platform by leading the technical direction and consultants; really getting the opportunity to not just see the impact of your work across the data team, but also across Finland.
Right now the team are working on gathering data from IoTs on multiple renewable sources (wind turbines, solar, etc.), with real-time streaming using Databricks and Kafka.
It's important that you can confidently work with Databricks in a cloud environment (they use Azure) and able to clearly communicate data strategy and implement.
Their tech stack includes #Azure (#DataFactory, #DataLake, #Synapse, #IoT/Event Hub, #Purview), #Databricks, #ML and #Kafka. Almost entirely cloud native, with the plan to be 100% in Azure within the year.
With a clear goal to be a 100% carbon neutral energy company by 2030, they're really working towards a better Finland. If you want to be part of that journey, review the experience required below and if it fits you, apply and see if you can join in this mission!
- Strong knowledge working within a cloud data environment: Azure ideally and more specifically Databricks
- Proficient in data engineering principals including data pipelining, working with source data and deriving value from data
- Real time streaming experience
- Python experience or knowledge in a similar programming language
- Good communication skills and ability to work with a team of data specialists
- Fluency in Finnish
- On a personal level, they're a team of engineers who are passionate about working with data and modern tools/techs so they are looking for somebody like-minded
As you can see from the above, this is a fantastic opportunity to join what is genuinely a very interesting mission, where you can really make a difference on an external level, rather than just internally.
