About CostPocket:

We at CostPocket aim to build a bullet-proof product for expense management that both accountants and business owners would love to use. We wish to eliminate pointless manual entry work from accountants and move towards efficient, digital workflows. We started digitising expense reporting by capturing an expense document, reading data from it, putting it into digital form, and sending the final results to accounting software.

We are a team of 17 professionals, who can all be described as independent thinkers who love transparent and honest communication and can make decisions that impact the future of our product. We are known for team events that everyone loves and for giving many opportunities to grow professionally and personally. Who We’re Looking For:

A talented Developer who is technically proficient and passionate about solving real-world business challenges. You’ll play an important role in shaping our solution by developing our main service and creating exciting new functionalities.

• Technical Expertise

You must have a strong command of TypeScript and NodeJS, as well as an intermediate understanding of PostgreSQL. You will be required to develop our core stack as well as integrations with partner systems. You will need to be able to understand our event-driven service architecture and highly automated data and event processing systems.

• Broader Skill Set

You can work independently, manage time efficiently, and navigate the development processes. CostPocket has a zero-legacy policy, so you will be responsible for upgrading and maintaining our tech stack and architecture as well as working with new upcoming projects. We expect candidates to have the ability to work with a large existing code base while maintaining and improving its structure and organization. You will be frequently required to work directly with our front office to identify and solve client-facing issues.

• Mindset and Communication

We’re looking for someone proactive, curious, and unafraid to take initiative. Clear and honest communication is at the heart of our team culture - your ability to articulate ideas and collaborate with your peers is expected.

• Industry Experience

While not strictly mandatory, experience in the accounting sector or a background in accounting software will give you an edge.
