As a Governance Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the Network Security domain, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding HCLTech’s IT infrastructure by ensuring strict adherence to security policies and governance standards. This individual contributor position is critical in validating network security requests and changes, identifying compliance gaps, and influencing the secure design and operation of network environments. Your expertise will directly impact the company’s ability to maintain robust security postures and protect sensitive data across global operations.

Your Role & Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

• Validate service requests related to Firewall and LAN Segmentation against established security policies.
• Review network architecture and recommend changes to preserve the confidentiality, integrity, and availability (CIA) of network components.
• Assess and evaluate Network Security Operations team requests, ensuring alignment with organizational security policies and standards.
• Provide guidance to requestors, helping them adhere to security standards and ensuring compliance when deviations are identified.
• Proactively identify non-compliant firewall rules and collaborate with application and operations teams to remediate issues in line with security governance.
• Manage exception processes, including accurate documentation and tracking within designated systems.
• Serve as a liaison between policy requestors and implementors to facilitate clear communication and alignment.
• Prepare and deliver comprehensive reports on security governance activities as required.

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum Requirements

• Fluency in English
• Minimum of 9 years' experience in the Network Security domain, preferably within Operational Technology (OT) environments, with a focus on governance and operations.
• Advanced knowledge and hands-on expertise in firewall technologies (Palo Alto, Checkpoint, Cisco) and firewall governance processes.
• In-depth experience with security solutions such as Tufin and Algosec; experience with cloud security is advantageous.
• Solid understanding of risk assessment methodologies and evaluation of network threats.
• Exceptional communication skills—both written and verbal—to effectively articulate risks, advocate for policy exceptions, and convey technical needs.
• Demonstrated autonomy with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
• Industry-recognized security certifications, including CISSP and relevant network security certifications.
