Job Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled PHP Backend Engineer with hands-on, production-level experience in PHP (PHP 7 & PHP 8) to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in Symfony, backend API development, cloud infrastructure (AWS), and modern backend technologies.

This role requires deep backend expertise—not just theoretical knowledge or exposure.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using PHP (7 & 8) and Symfony
• Build and consume RESTful APIs for web and service-based applications
• Develop efficient and scalable SQL queries and database schemas
• Integrate Node.js services where required for backend workflows
• Implement caching and performance optimization using Redis
• Work with AWS services to deploy, monitor, and scale applications
• Implement and maintain Elasticsearch for search, indexing, and analytics
• Ensure performance, security, and scalability of backend systems
• Collaborate with frontend, DevOps, and product teams to deliver high-quality solutions
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues with a strong focus on root cause analysis

Required Technical Skills

✅ Must-Have Skills (Hands-on Experience Required)

• PHP (PHP 7 & PHP 8 — real-world project experience required)
• Symfony Framework
• SQL (MySQL / PostgreSQL or equivalent)
• API Development (RESTful services, authentication, authorization)
• Redis (Caching, session handling, performance tuning)
• AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, CloudWatch – hands-on)
• Elasticsearch (Indexing, querying, optimization)

✅ Good to Have

• Node.js (backend services, integrations)
• Experience with microservices architecture
• CI/CD pipelines and DevOps collaboration
• Docker & containerized environments
• System performance tuning and scalability best practices

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
• Strong understanding of backend system design and architecture
• Proven hands-on experience working on production-grade PHP applications
• Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills
• Experience working in onshore teams and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders
