AI Architect - Tieto Banktech (m/f/d)

Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned AI Architect with deep expertise in banking and financial services to lead the design and implementation of enterprise-grade AI architectures. In this strategic role, you will bridge technical innovation with business imperatives, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, C-suite executives, and external stakeholders to deliver AI solutions that optimize fraud detection, personalize customer interactions, automate compliance processes, and enable predictive analytics. The ideal candidate thrives in customer-facing environments, leveraging years of direct client engagement to translate complex financial needs into transformative AI strategies.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Strategy

• Design scalable AI architectures for various use cases. E.g. fraud detection, credit scoring, customer segmentation, algorithmic trading, churn prediction models, advisory services, regulatory compliance monitoring etc.
• Define technical roadmaps for AI adoption across financial products and services.
• Ensure AI solutions align with product architecture and regulatory requirements.
  
  

Model Development & Deployment

• Collaborate with product teams and customer teams to operationalize ML models using MLOps best practices.
• Architect secure and compliant data pipelines for model training and inference.
• Integrate AI models with banking products and services across various banking domains via APIs and microservices.
  
  

Implementation, Governance & Compliance

• Oversee the deployment of AI systems, ensuring scalability, interoperability, and governance through tools like MLOps platforms, while mentoring engineering teams on best practices.
• Implement robust model governance frameworks including auditability, explainability, and bias mitigation.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations (e.g., GDPR, PCI-DSS, EU AI Act) and ethical AI standards.
  
  

Collaboration & Leadership

• Work with business stakeholders to identify AI opportunities and translate them into technical solutions.
• Lead cross-functional teams and mentor junior architects and engineers.
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies and vendors for strategic fit.
• Contribute to industry whitepapers, conferences, and internal knowledge-sharing sessions on AI applications in BFSI.
  
  

Risk And Ethics Management

• Conduct AI impact assessments to mitigate biases, ensure explainability, and uphold ethical standards in financial decision-making.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 14+ years of experience in software architecture, with 4+ years in AI/ML architecture, with hands-on experience in designing and deploying AI solutions in regulated environments
• Strong knowledge of financial services, products, and regulatory landscape.
• Proficiency in AI frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, LangChain) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS SageMaker, Azure AI, Google Vertex AI).
• Experience with GenAI, NLP, computer vision, and reinforcement learning applied to finance.
• Experience with MLOps, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with financial data formats, security protocols, and risk modeling.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with LLMs, generative AI, and financial NLP applications (e.g., document classification, sentiment analysis).
• Knowledge of big data technologies (Spark, Hadoop) and data lake architectures.
• Certifications in cloud architecture or AI/ML (e.g., AWS Certified Machine Learning, Azure AI Engineer).
