Senior Java Developer – E-commerce Platform

A well-established Swedish product company within large-scale B2B e-commerce is looking to strengthen its backend team with an experienced Senior Java Developer. The company operates a high-traffic, business-critical e-commerce platform used daily by thousands of customers across Sweden.

You’ll join a mature, cross-functional product team working close to the business, where quality, scalability and long-term technical decisions really matter.

What you’ll be doing

• Designing, building and maintaining backend services for a large-scale e-commerce platform
• Developing robust Java-based solutions in a complex, transaction-heavy environment
• Working closely with product owners, architects, frontend developers and DevOps engineers
• Integrating external systems, APIs and third-party services
• Contributing to architectural discussions and technical improvements
• Taking ownership in a “you build it, you run it” environment

Tech environment

• Java (Spring / Spring Boot)
• Modern e-commerce platform (Intershop or similar)
• Microservices & REST APIs
• Cloud-based infrastructure (Azure)
• CI/CD, Git, automated testing
• Agile ways of working (Scrum/Kanban)

What they’re looking for

• Several years of experience as a Java backend developer
• Experience from e-commerce, retail, logistics, or other transaction-intensive systems
• Strong understanding of backend architecture, integrations and APIs
• Comfortable working in cloud-based environments
• A collaborative mindset and interest in working close to the business domain

Nice to have

• Experience with Intershop
• Exposure to containers (Docker/Kubernetes)
• Monitoring and observability tools
• DevOps mindset and interest in operational responsibility
