Cyber Security Analyst

Location: Barrow-in-Furness (minimum 2 day per week on-site)

Reporting to: Cyber Security Officer

Industry: Financial Services


The Opportunity

Our client is looking for Cyber Security Analyst to support and strengthen the organisation’s security posture. This role works closely with the Cyber Security Officer and plays an important part in ensuring that member data is protected and security controls are operating effectively.


The position focuses on governance, risk, and compliance activities alongside security monitoring and reporting.


What You’ll Be Doing

  • Support Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) activities, including maintaining the GRC platform and managing audit evidence.
  • Assist with internal and external audits, including reviews carried out by third parties.
  • Help assure the effectiveness of security controls aligned to recognised security frameworks.
  • Support the monitoring and improvement of the Microsoft security environment, including Defender, Sentinel, Intune, and Purview.
  • Assist with identifying security risks, tracking issues, and working with internal teams on remediation actions.
  • Monitor security alerts and vulnerabilities in collaboration with SOC teams.
  • Produce reports and metrics that demonstrate security performance and areas for improvement.


What We’re Looking For

  • Experience: 3+ years in Cyber Security within a medium-to-large organisation.
  • GRC Strength: Strong hands-on experience across security frameworks and regulatory compliance, particularly ISO 27001 and financial-sector regulations (including DORA).
  • Microsoft Security: At least 1 year of hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 security tools (Defender, Sentinel, Intune).
  • Audit Ready: Proven experience gathering audit evidence and supporting internal and external audits.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working in a hybrid environment with regular on-site presence.
  • Hybrid Working: Comfortable working in a hybrid model with regular on-site collaboration.
