Overview of the Role

As a DevOps Engineer at HCLTech, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing software development and deployment processes, ensuring the seamless integration and automation of critical systems. This position is vital to advancing the company’s objectives of delivering reliable, scalable, and secure technology solutions to clients across the globe. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to build, maintain, and enhance CI/CD pipelines, and leverage cloud platforms to drive operational excellence.

Detailed Responsibilities

• Configure, manage, and maintain Azure DevOps build and release pipelines to support continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) processes.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, Bash, or Python to streamline infrastructure and deployment tasks.
• Implement and manage infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform, ensuring scalable and repeatable infrastructure provisioning.
• Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to troubleshoot and resolve pipeline and deployment issues.
• Utilize Azure DevOps tools such as Azure Pipelines, Azure Repos, and Azure Boards to support the software development lifecycle.
• Monitor and optimize CI/CD processes for performance, reliability, and security.
• Document processes, configurations, and best practices to support knowledge sharing within the team.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of DevOps practices.

Skill Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Proven experience in a technical DevOps role, particularly with Azure DevOps tools and services.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
• Strong understanding and hands-on experience with CI/CD concepts and best practices.
• Expertise in infrastructure as code (IaC) principles, with practical experience using Terraform.
• Familiarity with version control systems and agile methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Other Requirements (Optional)

• Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert or Terraform Associate are an advantage.
• Experience with cloud platforms beyond Azure (e.g., AWS, GCP) is a plus.
• Knowledge of containerization tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is desirable.
• Exposure to monitoring and logging tools for DevOps environments.
