Job Purpose

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager / Site Manager to deliver food retail fit-out projects from site start through to handover. The role is hands on and site based, responsible for managing programme, contractors, quality, cost and health & safety in live retail environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage food retail fit-out projects from pre-start to practical completion and handover
• Take full site responsibility, acting as the main point of contact for clients, landlords and contractors
• Plan and manage construction programmes to meet tight retail deadlines
• Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers (M&E, refrigeration, shopfitting, finishes, etc.)
• Ensure works are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to specification
• Manage site inductions, RAMS, permits and daily H&S compliance
• Oversee quality control, snagging and final handover documentation
• Manage variations, progress reporting and client updates
• Work within live trading environments where required

Skills & Experience Required

• Proven experience delivering food retail or supermarket fit-out projects
• Strong site management background with hands-on delivery experience
• Good understanding of retail M&E services, refrigeration and compliance requirements
• Ability to manage fast track programmes and multiple stakeholders
• Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills
• SMSTS, CSCS (Black or Gold preferred) and First Aid
• Full UK driving licence

Desirable

• Experience working in live store or night shift environments
• Trade or construction management qualification
