LOCATION: Possible for candidates to work 1-2 days in Luxembourg and rest from Belgium.

Software Engineer

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our team and contribute to the design and development of data-driven and interoperable software solutions. The role involves working with modern software engineering practices, data modelling, and Semantic Web technologies to deliver high-quality, scalable systems.

• Design, develop, and maintain software solutions using Python and/or JavaScript
• Perform data modelling and data analysis to support interoperable systems
• Work with Semantic Web and Linked Data technologies
• Translate business requirements into clear technical specifications
• Develop and maintain RDF data models, mappings, and queries
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Produce clear, structured technical documentation
• Participate in Agile development processes and continuous improvement

• Strong software engineering experience with Python and/or JavaScript
• Proven ability in data modelling and systems modelling
• Solid understanding of Semantic Web technologies, including:
• OWL, SHACL, and formal ontologies
• RDF and serialization formats (Turtle, JSON-LD, etc.)
• SPARQL, triple stores, and semantic search
• Experience with version control systems (Git)
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to adapt to fast-changing technologies and evolving requirements

• Experience with semantic data stores such as Virtuoso, Apache Jena, GraphDB
• Knowledge of RDF mapping and RML
• Experience with GitHub or GitLab CI/CD pipelines
• Familiarity with UML and system design methodologies
• Understanding of Linked Data best practices

• Agile development and backlog management (Jira, GitHub Issues)
• Software lifecycle and release management
• Software packaging and distribution
