Network Engineer

About the role

A financial-sector organization is strengthening its internal network team as part of a broader infrastructure modernisation program. The team currently includes a Network Architect and a Junior Network Engineer. We are looking for a Senior Network Engineer to take ownership of complex network topics and help build internal expertise in a highly regulated environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and operate enterprise network infrastructure
• Own complex network designs and operational issues
• Work closely with architecture, security, and infrastructure teams
• Ensure network solutions meet availability, security, performance, and regulatory requirements
• Contribute to modernization and infrastructure improvement projects

Technical Skills

• Strong experience in routing & switching, LAN/WAN, and Wi-Fi
• Firewall and security platforms (Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, or similar)
• Cloud and hybrid networking (Azure and/or AWS)
• Familiar with network protocols: BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VPN, VLANs
• Network monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning
• ZTNA, load balancers, and proxy solutions
• DNS, DHCP, and IP addressing
• High availability, disaster recovery, SD-WAN, and network virtualization
• Experience in regulated or financial environments

Soft Skills

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Comfortable working in complex environments
• Coaching mindset and willingness to mentor junior engineers

• ONSITE POLICY: 2 days onsite Brussels
• HOURS PER WEEK: Full time
