Head of Product Design

We are looking for a Head of Product Design who will lead our product design function across web and mobile platforms. The ideal candidate is a “maker-leader” who prioritizes business objectives, data-driven outcomes, and operational efficiency over purely conceptual or aesthetic design.

With over 20 years of expertise and an entrepreneurial spirit at our core, we combine modern tech with a customer-first approach to simplify travel. We partner with 70+ airlines, offering a full booking experience with expert support – focused on value and convenience. Our products, including online sales, call bookings, and semi-OTAs, are continually expanding to meet market trends.

Responsibilities

Quarterly Alignment: Direct the design function in accordance with quarterly business planning, ensuring design resources are allocated to the highest-priority initiatives.
Resource Optimization: Develop and manage a flexible, cross-functional team structure. You will be responsible for ensuring high resource utilization, preventing “silos,” and ensuring no team member remains idle while high-priority projects require support.
Delivery Management: Own the design pipeline, from discovery to delivery, ensuring predictable and high-quality results.
Performance Accountability: Take ownership of the product’s performance metrics. You are expected to be deeply curious about user behavior and business impact.
Analytics Integration: Proactively utilize data analytics tools (e.g., Looker) to monitor funnels, identify conversion drops, and surface UX friction points.
Evidence-Based Iteration: Translate quantitative data into actionable design improvements, prioritizing results and measurable growth over subjective design preferences.
Driving AI Adoption: Lead the transition toward an AI-augmented design process. You will be expected to identify, implement, and mandate the use of AI tools (e.g., UI generators, automated documentation, AI research tools) to significantly increase the team’s output.
Marketing Agility: Demonstrate proficiency in Webflow or similar landing page builders to facilitate the rapid deployment of high-converting marketing assets.
Scalable Architecture: Oversee the evolution of a utilitarian design system focused on consistency, engineering speed, and scalability.
Efficiency Engineering: Continuously evaluate and optimize the design lifecycle to reduce manual overhead and accelerate “time-to-market.”
Native Mobile Expertise: Provide expert-level oversight for Native Mobile App design (iOS and Android), ensuring strict adherence to platform patterns and high-performance UX standards.

Requirements

A minimum of 3 years of formal managerial experience leading design teams in high-growth, result-oriented environments.
A proven track record of shipping complex native mobile applications and high-performing web products.
Hands-on experience navigating BI dashboards (e.g., Looker) and a history of making design decisions based on conversion data.
A professional philosophy that prioritizes delivery, business ROI, and functional excellence over “artistic” or conceptual exploration.
Proven ability to resolve cross-functional friction between Design, Engineering, and QA to ensure a seamless delivery pipeline.
Good knowledge of Latvian, as well as English language as the company is international and has foreign employees and partners, and the nature of the work requires close cooperation with them.
