Purpose of the job

We’re looking for a talented project manager / scrum master to manage the organization of our technical teams. You’ll lead and manage the delivery of multiple complex features and technical projects on time and on budget with the highest possible quality standards.

As a project manager you’ll be the driving force for ensuring the project management processes are understood and implemented. Working in close collaboration with the Chief Product Officer and the technical teams, you’ll be responsible for coaching the teams to self-organize and create high-value features, remove impediments, measure and report on their progress.

You’ll use your strong interpersonal skills to identify and engage with project stakeholders, escalate issues and drive discussions to a resolution point. You will help manage the internal communications to ensure all involved parties are consulted or informed at an appropriate level.

This role is for a tech-savvy, highly skilled and experienced member of the company and, as such, you’ll be expected with time to take on additional responsibilities beyond the scope of your day to day job. These will be agreed on an individual basis.

Main Responsibilities

End-to-End Project Delivery

  • Plan and manage the delivery of complex product features and technical projects, defining project scope, quality benchmarks, timelines, and budgets.
  • Ensure alignment of project goals with organizational objectives, including security and compliance requirements (e.g., SOC2, ISO27001).

Stakeholder Communication & Relationship Management

  • Maintain proactive, clear communication with all project stakeholders (internal teams, customers, and third-party providers).
  • Drive discussions around delivery approaches across multiple cross-functional teams and projects.
  • Identify and resolve stakeholder concerns, escalating issues when necessary.

Scrum Master & Team Coaching

  • Facilitate agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives) and coach teams to self-organize and deliver value iteratively.
  • Champion agile values and principles, ensuring the teams adhere to Scrum theory, practices, and rules.
  • Foster an environment where cross-functional teams can collaborate effectively, remove impediments, and continually improve.

Documentation

  • Support the Product Team in maintaining and developing processes, standards, tools, reporting, and documentation.
  • Ensure all user stories, acceptance criteria, and definition of done are clearly documented, leaving no gray areas.
  • Ensure backlog items are consistently refined and a clear next action is identified before transitioning to the next state.
  • Document project approaches and ensure compliance with SOC2, ISO27001, and other relevant policies.
  • Coordinate with the communication and marketing team to organize impactful product release communications.

Risk Management & Continuous Improvement

  • Identify, track, and proactively manage project risks, escalating as needed.
  • Provide clear ownership for, and visibility of, the resolution of all project issues.
  • Lead initiatives that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of project delivery services and encourage best practices within the organization.

Team & Performance Management

  • Provide regular, constructive feedback to team members and collaborate with line managers to support professional growth.
  • Help shape and maintain a high-performance culture, encouraging continuous learning and improvement.

Reporting & Transparency

  • Prepare and present project progress updates, including key metrics, timelines, and deliverables, to relevant stakeholders.
  • Flag potential roadblocks early and provide clear explanations for any delays or changes in scope.
  • Report team KPIs and propose corrective actions to improve delivery velocity.

Collaboration with Support, SRE & Security Teams

  • Coordinate with the support team and enable collaboration with engineering and product teams on complex customer issues, with troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
  • Serve as a coordination point for major incidents or disruptions (e.g., system outages, security events) ensuring timely engagement of relevant technical and security teams to contain and resolve incidents.
  • Collaborate with the Security team to ensure security best practices are integrated into project planning and execution.

Skills Required / Qualifications

  • Certified Scrum Master, with exposure to at least another project framework such as Lean, Kanban, Prince II, PMBOK.
  • Minimum 3+ years experience in engineering position or project/product management on technical or IT projects.
  • Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with strong communication skills and a sense of ownership and drive.
  • Experience of working in an international environment with a culturally diverse user community. Very strong interpersonal skills including facilitation and coaching and being able to lead and influence others.
  • Fluent in English, both verbal and written and preferably one other language.
  • Enthusiastic, driven, self-motivated with an obsession of shippable results. Committed to the development of all team members and continuous development of capability within the department
  • Able to work independently, excellent personal organisation and able to demonstrate consistently balanced good judgement and logical thought prioritisation.

Experience in technologies and policies relevant to web projects. Experience in open source or cybersecurity projects would be a huge plus.
