Network Administrator

our direct end client in the Nijmegen area, we are looking for a Medior Network Administrator.

• Duration: 3 months, with an option to extend
• Workload: 24–40 hours per week

• Location: hybrid, 3 days on‑site with Wednesday fixed

Assignment Description

For a direct end client in the Nijmegen region, we are looking for a Medior Network Administrator. In this role, the focus is on monitoring, managing, and supporting the existing network infrastructure. You ensure that the network environment remains stable, secure, and available, and you act as a key point of contact for daily operational issues.

As a Medior Network Engineer, you primarily work in the operational management phase of the network. You proactively monitor the environment, handle incoming tickets, and carry out standard changes and maintenance activities. More complex issues are coordinated with senior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Monitoring the network infrastructure and identifying disruptions.
• Handling first‑ and second‑line tickets within agreed SLAs.
• Performing standard management and maintenance tasks on network equipment.
• Escalating more complex incidents to senior engineers when necessary.
• Keeping technical documentation and work instructions up to date.
• Supporting the identification of risks and bottlenecks within the network environment.

Purpose of the Role

• Ensuring a stable, secure, and well‑functioning network environment.
• Processing tickets and notifications accurately and on time according to SLA agreements.
• Relieving the organisation by providing reliable and predictable network management.

Requirements

• MBO level 4 working and thinking level.
• At least 2 years of demonstrable experience as a network administrator.
• Demonstrable knowledge of Fortinet.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure.
• Experience with HP Aruba.
• Experience with Cisco is an advantage.
• Experience with Extreme Network wireless is an advantage.
• Strong communication skills in Dutch, both spoken and written.
• Proactive and pragmatic working attitude.
• Comfortable working in a dynamic environment.
