Lead Network Engineer - Cisco SD-WAN (Viptela)

We are looking for an experienced Cisco SD-WAN (Viptela) Lead Network Engineer to lead the design, deployment, and transformation of enterprise-scale SD-WAN solutions. This role is ideal for a hands-on network specialist who can own end-to-end delivery, work closely with stakeholders, and support large-scale network modernisation initiatives.


Key Responsibilities

Design & Architecture

  • Lead the design of Cisco SD-WAN (Viptela) solutions aligned to enterprise standards
  • Produce high-quality HLDs, LLDs, BOMs, and deployment documentation
  • Define scalable and resilient WAN architectures for multi-site environments

Implementation & Deployment

  • Deliver greenfield and brownfield SD-WAN deployments across multiple locations
  • Configure and validate vManage, vSmart, vBond, and edge routers
  • Manage seamless migration from legacy WAN to SD-WAN platforms

Operations & Support

  • Provide L3 support during and post-deployment
  • Troubleshoot complex SD-WAN, routing, and network integration issues
  • Support change, release, and risk management activities

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

  • Work closely with Agile Release Trains (ARTs), operations teams, and customer stakeholders
  • Engage with Technology Landscape Owners (TLOs) and Project Managers to ensure delivery alignment
  • Participate in project planning, execution, and governance forums

Documentation & Knowledge Transfer

  • Develop detailed deployment guides and operational runbooks
  • Deliver knowledge-transfer sessions to operations and support teams

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities for automation, optimisation, and standardisation
  • Stay current with the latest Cisco SD-WAN features and best practices


Essential Skills & Experience

  • 6–8 years of experience in enterprise networking
  • Deep hands-on expertise with Cisco SD-WAN (Viptela)
  • Strong knowledge of SD-WAN policies, templates, and control components
  • Experience across LAN, WLAN, Firewalls, and Infoblox (IPAM/DNS/DHCP)
  • Proven experience leading end-to-end network transformation projects
  • Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder-management skills
