Full Stack Engineer

As a Full Stack Engineer at OSCAR, you will be at the heart of our mission to revolutionize home services across Europe. You will design, develop, and scale the technology that powers a real-time marketplace of 12,000+ professionals. This role requires a product-minded engineer who can bridge the gap between complex backend logic and a seamless mobile experience for our users and service providers.

Key Responsibilities

• Feature Ownership: Design and maintain robust features across our web and mobile applications.
• Scalable Architecture: Build and optimize high-performance APIs and microservices to support rapid international expansion.
• Mobile Excellence: Enhance our React Native applications to ensure a smooth, reliable experience for both customers and "Oscars" (our service pros).
• Collaboration: Work alongside product managers and designers in an Agile environment to iterate quickly based on real-time user data.
• Quality & Performance: Write clean, documented, and testable code while troubleshooting and resolving production bottlenecks.

Qualifications

• Core Experience: 3+ years of professional experience in Full-Stack Development, specifically within high-traffic or marketplace environments.
• Backend Mastery: Deep proficiency in Python and Django. You should be comfortable managing complex data models and business logic.
• Mobile & Web: Strong experience with React Native (for cross-platform mobile apps) and modern JavaScript/TypeScript for front-end development.
• Architecture & APIs: Solid understanding of RESTful API design and database management.
• Problem Solving: A proven track record of debugging complex systems and optimizing application performance.
• Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, OR a equivalent proven professional experience in the software engineering field.

Preferred Skills (The "Plus" List)

• NestJS Expertise: Experience with NestJS or similar Node.js frameworks is highly preferred as we scale our service architecture.
• GCP Savvy: Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, Docker, or modern CI/CD pipelines.
• Product Intuition: A passion for building services that solve real-world logistical problems for thousands of people daily.
