Location:

This role will be based out of our office locations in Vancouver, BC, or Toronto, ON.

Job Summary:

We're seeking a skilled Mid-Level PHP Developer to design, build, and maintain robust backend systems. You'll collaborate with frontend teams, DevOps, and stakeholders to deliver high-performance web applications using modern PHP frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and optimize server-side logic using PHP 8+ and frameworks like Laravel or Symfony.
• Build RESTful APIs and integrate third-party services (e.g., payment gateways, AWS).
• Collaborate on database design and queries with MySQL/PostgreSQL.
• Implement secure, scalable code with unit testing (PHPUnit) and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions/Jenkins).
• Troubleshoot, debug, and refactor existing applications for performance.
• Participate in code reviews and agile sprints using Jira or Trello.
• Stay updated on best practices for security (OAuth, GDPR compliance) and cloud deployment.

Required Qualifications:

• 6+ years of professional PHP development experience.
• Strong proficiency in PHP, OOP, and MVC patterns.
• Experience with Laravel/Symfony, Composer, and modern JS (Vue.js/React a plus).
• Solid knowledge of relational databases (MySQL) and NoSQL (Redis/MongoDB).
• Familiarity with Git, Docker, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure).
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team.
