Cyber Security Engineer (R&D and Secure Systems Engineering)

We are looking for a Cyber Security Engineer to support the design, implementation, and validation of secure technical solutions across multiple research and development projects. As part of engineering teams, you will focus on hands-on security engineering, ensuring systems are secure‑by‑design, resilient, and aligned with architectural and regulatory requirements.
What you will do
- Implement and maintain security controls across systems and platforms
- Support secure system design in collaboration with architects and engineers
- Perform security testing, hardening, and validation activities
- Contribute to threat modelling, risk analysis, and mitigation measures
- Support secure system integration and deployment
- Participate in technical reviews, testing activities, and project demonstrations
Methods & Approaches
- Secure software and system development practices
- Security testing and validation methodologies
- DevSecOps practices in R&D environments
- Use of security tools for monitoring, testing, and analysis
Deliverables
- Implemented security mechanisms and configurations
- Security test results and validation reports
- Technical documentation and configuration guidelines
- Inputs to project deliverables and demonstrations
What makes you a great fit
- Background in cyber security or secure systems engineering
- Bachelor's degree or higher in cyber security, computer science, or a related field
- Experience with operating systems, networks, and virtualized or cloud environments
- Knowledge of network security, identity and access management, and data protection
- Hands‑on, problem‑solving mindset
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Clear technical communication and documentation skills
- Willingness to complete a government security clearance process
- Experience in R&D or multi‑partner projects is an advantage
