What is The Role:

Kibana is the UI and frontend for everything we do at Elastic. It is the application platform that powers our Elastic Observability, Security, and Search Solutions. It provides building blocks and user experiences that delight our users, accelerate development, and optimize our operations. Deployed both in the cloud and on-premises, it is one of the largest open-source projects, used to answer millions of complex questions with large data sets at scale.

If you are an enthusiastic JavaScript backend developer looking for new and hard backend challenges, you will want to hear more about this role. We are looking for a strong engineer who is looking forward to working on the Kibana Alerting and Reporting Engines.

What You Will Be Doing:

• You will contribute to the development of our hosted and on-premise offerings.
• You'll be part of a close-knit team of great engineers who mentor, support, and challenge each other.
• You will contribute code to the core pillars that power the Kibana Alerting, Connectors and Reporting platforms across solutions, while collaborating with other Operations, Engineering, and Documentation teams.
• Assist in delivering and supporting a highly scalable cloud offering.
• Work on a codebase that consists primarily of APIs and server-side frameworks.
  
  

What You Bring:

• 4+ years of backend development experience
• Confident engineer with JavaScript, Typescript, and Node.js
• Experience with platform and SaaS engineering
• Good understanding of distributed systems
• Ability to work with a worldwide team in a distributed work environment
• Passionate about JavaScript or web development in general
