Job Description:
seeking a highly skilled Data Governance & Collibra Specialist to strengthen its Data Management organization. In this role, you will ensure that business-critical metadata, data definitions, lineage, and data quality information are accurately maintained and aligned between IGC (IBM InfoSphere Information Governance Catalog) and Collibra. You will act as a bridge between data owners, data stewards, technical teams, and governance stakeholders, supporting ING’s strategy to remain fully compliant, data-driven, and operationally efficient.
Key Responsibilities
1. Metadata Management & Governance
Analyze, interpret, and validate metadata stored in IGC (Information Governance Catalog).
Convert, align, and migrate metadata into Collibra templates based on organizational standards and governance rules.
Ensure metadata consistency, completeness, and traceability across systems.
Act as a subject matter expert for metadata-related queries, definitions, mapping logic, and lineage structure.
2. Data Governance Framework Execution
Drive the implementation of ING’s data governance principles—including data ownership, data stewardship, business glossaries, and policy adherence.
Support data owners and stewards in defining and enriching business terms, critical data elements, and reference data.
Facilitate workshops and working sessions with domain experts to refine governance processes.
3. Data Quality & Lineage Management
Support the creation and maintenance of data quality rules, metrics, and thresholds.
Build and validate end-to-end data lineage across systems, applications, ingestion pipelines, and reporting layers.
Partner with data engineering teams to ensure technical lineage aligns with business lineage.
Identify data issues proactively and contribute to remediation plans.
4. Regulatory Compliance Support
Apply basic understanding of regulatory frameworks such as BCBS 239, GDPR, ECB guidelines, MiFID, CRR/CRD, etc.
Ensure that data governance assets support regulatory reporting, audit controls, and risk management requirements.
Work with compliance teams to ensure metadata and lineage meet audit-readiness standards.
5. Reporting & Visualization (Power BI)
Create and maintain Power BI dashboards to visualize metadata quality, data quality KPIs, lineage completeness, and governance compliance metrics.
Collaborate with stakeholders to define dashboard requirements and deliver insights that support senior management decision-making.
6. Incident & Change Management (ServiceNow)
Use ServiceNow to manage incident tickets, change requests, and governance-related tasks.
Provide functional support to users, address breaks or inconsistencies in Collibra/IGC, and track resolution progress.
Coordinate with technical teams to troubleshoot issues and ensure platform stability.
Required Skills & Experience
Must-Have Technical Skills
Hands-on knowledge of IBM IGC (Information Governance Catalog) and Collibra
Strong experience working with Collibra—including templates, workflows, data models, and stewardship functions.
Tools & Platforms
Proficiency in Power BI for reporting and dashboard development.
Experience with ServiceNow for incident, problem, or change management processes.

Good understanding of banking regulatory requirements related to data (e.g., BCBS 239, GDPR, Data Privacy).

Education & Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.
6+ years of experience in Data Governance, Metadata Management, or Data Quality domains.
Experience in the banking or financial services industry is highly preferred.
