Data Scientist - Energy Analytics

About the role

StormGeo Energy Analytics is building a next-generation analytics platform for the energy and power markets. The platform is developed from the ground up, while leveraging existing components, services, and capabilities from StormGeo’s technology organization. Our team is highly cross-functional, with collaboration across engineering, data science, meteorology, market analysis, and product design.


As a Data Scientist, you will become part of a strong scientific environment focused on modeling, forecasting, and analytics for energy markets. Your work will directly influence StormGeo’s next-generation Energy Analytics platform.


📍The preferred location for this position is Oslo, Norway. Other StormGeo office locations may be considered for the right candidate.


What you’ll do

  • Develop and validate models for energy market analytics.
  • Collaborate with engineers to productionize models.
  • Research and implement AI-driven analytical methods.
  • Communicate insights to cross-functional teams.
  • Contribute to scientific tooling and workflows.


What we’re looking for

Core requirements

  • MSc or PhD in data science, statistics, engineering, physics, or related field.
  • Strong experience with statistical modeling or machine learning.
  • Strong Python skills and data science libraries.
  • Ability to work in cross-disciplinary teams.

Nice to have

  • Experience with energy markets.
  • Experience with cloud or large-scale data infrastructure.
  • Experience with DataOps or ML pipelines.
