Staff Software Engineer – Cloud DNS Platform (North America)

We are hiring a Staff Software Engineer to join a highly technical Cloud DNS & Networking Platform team. This role focuses on building and scaling the core cloud platform that powers enterprise-grade networking and security services used globally.

As a senior individual contributor, you will play a key role in designing, building, and owning backend platform services, working closely with experienced engineers and cross-functional teams in a cloud-native environment.

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, and maintain cloud-native backend services deployed at scale
• Own and evolve key components of a distributed platform architecture
• Design and implement high-availability, fault-tolerant systems
• Partner closely with product, infrastructure, and engineering teams
• Drive improvements in system reliability, performance, and quality
• Stay current with trends in cloud platforms, networking, and distributed systems

What You Bring

• 12+ years of professional software development experience
• Strong hands-on experience with Golang (or similar backend languages)
• Deep understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Solid knowledge of cloud networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, IPAM preferred)
• Experience with Amazon Route 53
• Experience with system design, distributed architectures, and design patterns
• Strong background in API design (RESTful services)
• Experience with concurrency (e.g., goroutines, channels)
• Hands-on experience with microservices, Docker, and Kubernetes
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary range: $140,000 – $230,000 CAD + annual bonus
