What You Will Be Doing...
You will provide support to our staff regarding their cybersecurity needs. The right person must have excellent engagement and communication skills, and a solid, customer-focused, team-oriented approach that balances security needs and user experience to provide best-in-class security for the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Be the first point of contact between the regular staff and the Information Security Team.
- Handle alerts reported by monitoring tools.
- Continuously propose, improve, and implement alerts based on observed daily behavior across systems and applications.
- Every time a request is received (through the corporate chat, group email, or Jira ticket), you will try to resolve their request. If you can't solve it within 30 minutes with the existing written procedures and your experience, then you will reassign the task to a more experienced Information Security Engineer.
- This position is a great opportunity for anyone who wants to further develop their cybersecurity skills, as it requires using all the tools the Information Security Team manages.
- Document new procedures or update existing ones.
- Ensure that documentation is accurate, comprehensive, and delivered on time.
- Triage the criticality of new requests.
- Creation of reports, some of them based on the managed tickets.
- Keep track of tasks assigned to others.
- Engage in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and stay current with emerging threats and technologies.
- Share knowledge and expertise with the team to foster a culture of security awareness and continuous improvement.
- Adhere to the organization's different policies.
- Keep your work organized based on tickets (Jira).
- Maintain appropriate knowledge required for the successful and efficient delivery of the responsibilities.
- Three years of a university degree or a two-year college diploma, preferably in computer science, telecommunications, or other related academic fields, or equivalent work experience, are required.
- At least 2 years of work experience in similar roles.
- Eager to learn.
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience in working collaboratively with cross-functional/transverse IT teams.
- Good understanding of reporting needs at various organizational levels and ability to design, create, and present them.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of the Information Security Team, and can work under minimal supervision.
- Should have time management skills and manage work in a fast-moving environment.
- Technical skills:
- Good networking and cybersecurity foundations that will allow you to troubleshoot issues across the different tools we manage.
- Reading comprehension: You must be able to read and understand the existing procedures and the tasks assigned to tickets. This is crucial for you to work under minimal supervision and excel. If you are a technical guru but don't understand the assigned tasks in writing or don't clarify doubts, this is not your job.
- Organization: This position requires the ability to handle more than 15 independent requests (by email, chat, or ticket) per day. 50% of those requests can be repeated tasks (alerts triggered by monitoring tools, reports submitted as scheduled tasks, etc.
- Prioritization: You must attend to the priorities of the received requests and find the time to keep improving the existing written procedures.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and execute tasks during a high-pressure moment and make sound decisions in emergencies.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, activities, and tasks simultaneously.
Additional requirements, not essential but "nice to have":
- Any Cybersecurity certification.
- Knowledge of common cybersecurity tools (Tenable, Qualys, Acunetix, Burp Suite, OWASP ZAP, CrowdStrike, Cloudflare, Imperva, Splunk, Snort, New Relic, FortiGate, Cisco Firepower, ManageEngine suite of tools, Nmap, Wireshark, Sonarqube, etc.).
