We are actively seeking an ambitious professional to join our Group Business Service team at ADCB to work alongside passionate colleagues who share your ambition to redefine excellence in UAE banking.
In this role, your key responsibilities include:
- Lead design, implementation, and technical artefacts for technology lifecycles to ensure compliance with ADCB engineering standards and guardrails.
- Build and implement standard and repeatable design patterns, components, and technology solutions to deliver on business objectives, customer needs, and ensure security, scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Maintain and share current thinking and trends around technology practices to mentor and coach engineers on best practices and skills modernization.
- Implement technology and digital strategy, roadmaps, and prioritized initiatives as agreed with Platforms, Chapters, and Tribes, working in cross-functional squads to ensure achievement of agreed turnaround times (TATs) and implementation plans.
- Guide, coach, and role model a data-driven approach, including producing reporting and insights to maximize performance.
- Play a lead role with engineering teams and squads around change control, testing, incident management, troubleshooting, and release management to ensure effective implementation.
- Contribute to engineering acceleration initiatives across ADCB to ensure best practice solutions and initiatives are identified and recommended for implementation.
- Identify and adopt emerging technologies and industry best practices to drive innovation.
- Oversee coordination with external vendors to ensure services are provided as per agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and TATs, and remediation plans are in place for variances beyond tolerance thresholds.
- Work closely with solution architects and vendors to enhance ADCB capabilities and address technical debt.
- Manage self and team in line with ADCB’s people management policies, procedures, processes, and practices to ensure adherence and maximize own and employee contribution to business performance.
- Organize and supervise the activities and work of the team to ensure that targets and objectives are achieved and the business plan is delivered in line with the required policies, processes, procedures, and systems.
- Implement approved departmental policies, processes, and procedures, and ensure employee adherence so that work is carried out to the required standard while delivering the required standards of service to customers and stakeholders.
- Manage and motivate the team to ensure they contribute to, and participate in, the identification and implementation of change initiatives, programmes, and projects in line with the Bank’s standards.
- Demonstrate Our Promise and apply the ADCB Service Standards to deliver the Bank’s required levels of service in all internal and external customer interactions.
The ideal candidate should have the following experience
- 7–10 years of experience, with strong implementation and production support of wealth and investment systems, including asset classes such as equities, bonds, funds, retirement planning, corporate actions, and Robo Advisory.
- Deep knowledge of brokerage and trading domains, including at least one system for trading in UAE (ADX & DFM) and international markets.
- Exposure to virtual assets models, bancassurance systems, and IPO systems.
- Experience with graphical reporting for system health and coordination with product owners for strategic enhancements.
Functional Competencies:
- Understanding of consumer banking products and services (savings accounts, loans, mortgages, credit cards, online banking).
- Knowledge of UAE banking regulations, Central Bank guidelines, Open Banking, and international banking standards.
- Insight into risk assessment, fraud detection, and mitigation strategies specific to consumer banking.
- Understanding of payment systems, transaction processing, and settlement mechanisms.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, flexibility to adapt to new technologies, and knowledge of best practices for change management and code releases.
Technical Competencies:
- Proficiency in software development (Java, .net Core), relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server), and moderate knowledge of NoSQL databases (MongoDB).
- Proficiency in cloud platforms and architecture (AWS, Azure).
- Experience in designing and using APIs, microservices, and integration solutions.
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles, data privacy regulations, and security architecture.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and automation tools.
- Awareness of emerging fintech technologies (blockchain, AI/ML, digital wallets).
- Proficiency in architectural design tools (Visio, Draw.io) and project management software (JIRA, Confluence).
