Software Developer (PHP) - £50,000 - Southampton

We’re working with a well-established, technology-led organisation based in Southampton that is looking to hire a Software Developer with strong PHP experience. This role sits within a collaborative development team building and maintaining business-critical web applications used by customers across the UK.

This is an excellent opportunity for a developer who enjoys working on real-world systems, contributing to new features, and improving existing codebases—while still benefiting from flexible working arrangements.

What you'll be doing;

• Develop, enhance, and maintain web applications using PHP.
• Collaborate with fellow developers, testers, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Work on new features as well as maintaining and improving existing systems.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices across the team.
• Debug, test, and troubleshoot issues to ensure application stability and performance.

What We’re Looking For

• Commercial experience developing applications with PHP.
• Experience with modern PHP frameworks (Laravel, Symfony, or similar).
• Solid understanding of web technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Experience working with relational databases such as MySQL.
• Comfortable working in a collaborative, team-based environment.
