At Watermelon we're looking for a Freelance UI/UX Designer (SaaS) to join our team.

• Hours: 16 hours per week
• Start: Mid February or 1st of March

About The Role

We’re looking for a freelance UI/UX designer who knows what it means to build and iterate on a real SaaS product.

You will work closely with product and engineering to improve onboarding, user flows, microcopy and overall usability of our product.

You’ll be designing inside an existing product, not starting from scratch. Fast iteration, clear thinking and pragmatic UX decisions matter more than fancy concepts.

We work async, remote, and focused. No fluff. No endless meetings.

What You’ll Work On

• Improving onboarding and activation flows
• Designing and refining user journeys and key product flows
• UX improvements based on data and product insights
• UI design within an existing design system
• Creating Figma-ready specs for engineering
• Microcopy and UX states
• Supporting design QA after release (light)
• Some visual branding assets for our social media and marketing channels (10-15% of all the work)
  
  

What Success Looks Like In Your First Month

• 1–2 meaningful user flow improvements delivered
• Clear Figma flows with UX rationale and microcopy
• Fast iteration cycles: feedback → update within days
• Smooth collaboration with product and engineering
• Designs that ship, not designs that stall
  
  

Who We’re Looking For

• Medior UI/UX Designer
• Minimum 4 years of experience working on real SaaS products
• Proven experience designing live products, not just marketing sites or concepts
• Strong UX thinking ,you understand user behavior and trade-offs
• Comfortable working remote and async
• Able to overlap working hours with Amsterdam / CET
• Demonstrable experience with Figma Make or other AI-powered design tools
• You deliver what you promise, without micromanagement
