The role

We are looking for an Application Developer (Fullstack) with 3–5 years of experience to strengthen our growing team. You’ll work across frontend and backend, helping us build high-quality, scalable, and user-friendly applications.

This is an opportunity to join a quickly growing team and make a significant impact from day one. You will report directly to our Engineering manager and collaborate closely with both product and design.

We support remote work in accordance with our work-from-home policy; however, this is a hybrid role where we value and expect regular presence at our Malmö office. We therefore primarily consider candidates within commuting distance of Malmö.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and improve fullstack applications using React, Express, and TypeScript.
• Design and implement backend services with AWS (DynamoDB, Elastic Beanstalk, EC2, or similar).
• Take ownership of projects from design through delivery and ongoing maintenance.
• Collaborate with team members across engineering, product, and design to deliver value quickly.
• Write clean, testable, and maintainable code.
  
  

Examples of duties include, but are not limited to:

• Leading the development of new features and applications.
• Building and optimizing APIs.
• Managing data storage solutions in AWS.
• Supporting deployment and scaling of services.
• Performing code reviews.
• Troubleshooting and solving technical issues in production.

Your day one qualities:

• 3–5 years of experience in fullstack development.
• Solid skills in React, Express, and TypeScript.
• Experience with AWS (DynamoDB, EC2, Elastic Beanstalk, or similar cloud services).
• Data-driven mindset, comfortable tracking and presenting results.
• Have experience working in the SaaS industry and products.
• Fluent English at a professional level in writing and speaking; other languages are a bonus!
  
  

We’ll be excited if you…

• Have an understanding of lean/agile methodologies and flow-based practices.
• Previous experience with the Atlassian suite of tools, particularly Jira and Confluence.
• Have worked with Azure DevOps or its APIs.

Our process looks like this:

• Remote competency-based interview Your first conversation will be with Freddie and will focus on your technical background, how you work as a developer, how you collaborate with others, and overall mutual fit. We’ll discuss what you’ve built, technologies you’ve worked with, challenges you’ve faced, and the decisions you’ve made in your development work.
• On-site interview The final step is an interview at our office, which includes:
• A practical coding exercise based on a realistic development task.
• A discussion of your solution, including trade-offs, reasoning, and possible improvements.
• Meetings with some of the team members you’ll collaborate closely with.
• A final conversation with our co-owners, giving you the opportunity to get to know them, ask questions, and discuss 55 Degrees from a broader company and leadership perspective.
