What You Will Be Responsible For
Engineering & System Responsibilities
- High/Medium Voltage System Management: Provide expert engineering oversight, operation, and maintenance strategies for high- and medium-voltage distribution systems (e.g., switchgear, transformers, feeders, protective relaying, synchronization, and power quality).
- Design & Project Implementation: Review, interpret, and validate complex engineering documentation (one-lines, P&IDs, control diagrams). Participate in the design, development, and commissioning of new electrical infrastructure and modifications related to the AI center conversion.
- Advanced Diagnostics & Optimization: Perform complex root-cause analysis and advanced troubleshooting on power quality issues, motor controls (VFDs, soft starters), PLCs (Allen-Bradley/Siemens), and industrial control panels. Utilize specialized test equipment (e.g., megger, thermal scanners, HV apparatus) for condition monitoring and optimization.
- Critical Equipment Oversight: Engineer the reliability and performance of major equipment, including MCCs, generators, UPS systems, and power quality monitoring apparatus.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all electrical engineering design, operations, and maintenance activities strictly adhere to Norwegian/local codes, standards, and industrial safety practices (e.g., arc-flash boundary calculations, LOTO procedures, hot-work).
- HSE and Documentation: Develop, implement, and audit HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) protocols, risk assessments, and deviation management. Ensure robust digital documentation (CMMS, engineering files) is maintained for all systems and maintenance activities.
- Supervision & Mentorship: Provide technical direction and mentorship to electrical technicians and maintenance crews, coordinating tasks with cross-functional teams (Facilities, Operations, IT/Network) to ensure seamless data center availability.
- Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field. 5+ years of progressive electrical engineering experience in high-power industrial, utilities, high-availability, or data center environments.
- Core Technical Expertise: Expert working knowledge of high- and medium-voltage distribution, protection, and safety. Demonstrated expertise in PLCs, SCADA/BMS systems, and advanced control logic. Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex electrical schematics and one-line diagrams.
- Compliance: Strong working knowledge of Norwegian/local electrical codes and industrial safety standards. DSB Approval (or demonstrable qualifications/process to obtain recognition) to legally practice the electrical profession in Norway. Current FSE (Low Voltage & High Voltage) certification, including required First Aid, to demonstrate knowledge of Norwegian electrical safety standards.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical and root-cause analysis skills. Ability to work independently and effectively collaborate with multi-disciplinary crews. Excellent command of Norwegian and English, both spoken and written.
- A culture that values authenticity and diverse perspectives.
- An inclusive, respectful environment with open workspaces and an energetic, start-up spirit.
- A fast-growing company with opportunities to network with industry pioneers and enthusiasts.
- The ability to contribute directly and make an impact on the future of the digital asset and AI computing industry.
- Involvement in new projects and in developing processes/systems.
- Personal accountability, autonomy, rapid growth, and learning opportunities.
- Attractive benefits and development such as training and mentoring.
