The Human Resource Consultant (HRC) is a trusted HR sparring partner to functional / business heads and their management teams and delivers comprehensive HR services to meet the needs of line managers and employees. The HRC works in close collaboration with the Centres of Expertise, HR Rewards and Performance Management, Strategic Recruitment, Julius Baer Academy and Business Management. The HRC also helps to further develop the HR function’s expertise in respect to advising and coaching line managers and employees, and to design, implement and maintain best-practice standards in this context. The HRC participates in HR projects through his/her expertise in the everyday HR service delivery.

YOUR CHALLENGE

HR Advisory

  • Provides advice on all human capital matters, supports functional / business heads and their management teams in people-related issues, planning and decision-making by being an effective sounding board
  • Advise and coach line managers to ensure adherence to regulatory and statutory requirements throughout the employee life-cycle

Client Management (internal & external)

  • Support the implementation of the HR strategy in accordance with the strategy of the Bank and the strategy of the business
  • Support/coach functional / business heads in their Human Capital Management activities (Strategic Workforce Management, Succession Planning, Talent Management, Low Performer Process etc.)
  • Collaborates with the various HR Centres of Excellence, locally and also with Zurich
  • Maintain good working relationships with external recruiters and vendors

Recruitment

  • Utilises suitable channels to facilitate the sourcing of candidates for open roles
  • Provides insightful and balanced assessment of shortlisted candidates for managers to make sound hiring decisions
  • Propose hiring terms that are in line with the Bank’s compensation philosophy and balanced against external benchmarks and internal equity
  • Manages the hiring approval process

Performance Management And Compensation

  • Partners functional / business heads and their management teams in managing the performance management process of goal setting, mid-year reviews, year-end reviews, performance rating calibration, and potential evaluation exercises
  • Supports the Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) process with managers
  • Manages the compensation process with managers (e.g. salary benchmarking job matching, ad-hoc / year-end compensation review processes, etc)

Staff Issues and Disciplinary

  • Deals with staff issues in a fair, sensitive and balanced manner
  • Supports managers and control functions in dealing with disciplinary-related issues and breaches including conducting fact-finding sessions

Staff Development, Talent Management and Succession Planning

  • Supports functional / business heads and their management teams in:
    • Identifying and managing talents
    • Succession planning for leadership and critical roles
    • Initiatives that support staff development
Projects

  • Lead internal projects as assigned from time to time
  • Participate and contribute to other internal projects

Regulatory Responsibilities &/OR Risk Management

  • Demonstration of appropriate values and behaviours including but not limited to standards on honesty and integrity, due care and diligence, fair dealing (treating customers fairly), management of conflicts of interest, competence and continuous development, adequate risk management, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations

YOUR PROFILE

Personal and Social

  • Strong Ability to influence and partner with senior leadership
  • Forward thinking and solution driven
  • Ability to balance business needs with people strategy along with excellent communication skill
  • Rational thinking
  • Abel to empathise and connect with people

Professional and Technical

  • 12-15 years of HR generalist experience, preferably in a banking environment
  • Competent in the broad spectrum of HR functions (e.g. recruitment, performance management, compensation, employee relations etc)
  • Keep abreast of the latest developments in statutory and regulatory requirements as well as best practices
  • Experience in engaging stakeholders at different levels as a HR advisor
  • Experience in driving HR initiatives and Branch projects
