🚀 We’re hiring: Data Scientist (Mid–Senior)

📍 Sydney CBD | 🏢 2–3 days in-office | 💼 Permanent

💰 $140K–$170K base + super (depending on experience)

We’re looking for a hands-on Data Scientist who loves turning data into insight and insight into action. This is a high-autonomy, visible role where you’ll partner closely with business leaders to deliver trusted reporting, meaningful dashboards, and executive-ready insights across student outcomes, franchise performance, finance, and marketing.

🔍 About the role

Reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer, you’ll execute the company’s data strategy within an established IT governance framework. This is a specialist role with no people management, focused on impact, accuracy, and business value.

🤝 Who you’ll work with

• Regional CEOs & Business Leaders – operational and commercial performance visibility
• Curriculum teams – student outcomes and learning performance
• Marketing – campaign reporting and attribution
• Product – product KPIs and AI readiness
• IT Delivery – alignment with enterprise systems
• Franchisees – standardised reporting and self-service dashboards

🧠 What you’ll be doing

• Deliver trusted, business-aligned dashboards and reports
• Own data quality, validation frameworks, and KPI accuracy
• Produce board-level performance dashboards
• Provide ad-hoc insights that directly influence decisions
• Prepare clean, structured datasets to support AI and predictive analytics
• Enable self-service analytics and uplift data literacy across the business

🛠️ Technical focus

• BI & data visualisation tools (expert level)
• Strong T-SQL capability
• .NET development experience, embedding dashboards into ASP-based web apps
• Exposure to Azure Data Factory (highly regarded)
• Data governance, auditability, and privacy compliance
• CRM, LMS, finance, marketing, and operational data sources

⚙️ How you’ll operate

• No direct reports – highly autonomous role
• ~70% hands-on build, 20% stakeholder engagement, 10% strategic input
• Agile, iterative delivery with a strong focus on business impact

✅ What we’re looking for

• 7–10 years’ experience in data analytics and reporting
• Proven ability to deliver executive-level insights independently
• Strong commercial understanding (franchise and learning metrics highly valued)
• Comfortable working across multiple stakeholders
• Working knowledge of AI readiness (no active model building required)

• 95%+ accuracy across defined KPIs
• 60%+ reduction in manual reporting
• 50+ users onboarded to self-service analytics
• Established data governance processes and documentation
